Navigating Your First Mortgage Payment

Your Mortgage Servicer – It’s Likely to Change Over Time

When you get a mortgage, the first one or two payments are usually made to the lender that approved and funded your mortgage. After that, you’ll either continue to make payments directly to the lender, or, if your mortgage is transferred to a new servicing company, you will receive a Notice of Servicing Transfer letter with instructions on how to make your payments.
